a bedtime prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

Amen. I can't tell you how strongly this old prayer resonates with me right now.

Another version, quite suitable for the month of love and thankfulness:

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep;
When in the morning light I wake,
Teach me the path of love to take.
