oh, joy!

have i mentioned before how joy comes to us from the most unexpected places sometimes? i have a task that lies before me - of transcribing 60 minutes of talk before tomorrow morning. brave as i am these days, i've been putting off this task a fair bit to avoid hours of mindless typing. when i did get down to it though, i couldn't believe i'd put it off this long, because i found it so immensely fulfilling. there is so much beauty in the mechanics of these mundane exercises. like a painting that's just 'sitting there', waiting to be serendipitously discovered. i wonder if you'll think i'm crazy, but my eyes actually did tear up with this discovery :).
