what can i do for you?

you know how when you go to a cafe and stand at the counter, someone comes up to you and asks you that question? and then you tell them what they could do? for you?

today, s asked me "what is one thing i could do that would make you smile? always." of course i was smiling already, but that was a hard question to answer. one of those questions that makes you feel - "uh oh, 8&20, you'd better plunge into the depths of your consciousness right now to answer that question." it didn't take me long, however, to realize that the greatest and truest happiness that i can derive from another individual lies in seeing them seek, discover, and manifest their inner-most beauty. that desire (however lofty, however bold) is at once selfish and selfless, because it exists on the simple foundation that there is no 'one' and the 'other'. there is only the 'one'.

and so, gentle reader, if there is one thing you'd like to do for me, to make me smile, may that be it. yes, presumptuous as that may sound (i am reminded of when henry higgins calls eliza doolittle a presumptuous insect :).

the point of this post, however, was for me to ask you - each of you - what can i do for you? anything, at all, to make you smile.

and always.

a big 'yay!' or 'yipeeee' does the magic :)
