a time to remember
a and i just had a long, stretched-out conversation about ideals and purposes and comparisons and not. i cannot sum into one post the import of it all, but i do want to mark this conversation so as not to forget it. while it simply opened a pandora's box of questions and offered very few answers, i find i have fodder for thought for whenever i am bored (and perhaps for napa this weekend!). a beautiful feeling :).
the conversation started with a "what does love mean to you?". i urge you all to share with me your answers.

I had always thought that to love is to give; of one's attention, care, affection and of oneself entirely...I have recently, however, also come to realize that to love is to accept as well...acepting our limitations as human beings, accepting every being as a blessing...it seems there is so much acceptance to be done at other levels too... to accept what we get in return, without expecting it ever, but yet gracefully... to accept acts of love reciprocated...for if not there would be a great imbalance, no? i'm rambling...
you're certainly not rambling. an instance of how answers come to us as we seek, i found these words of gibran to satisfy my curiosity for the time being:
