mission 2007: day 3
day 2 was short, but day 3 was shorter still. going by the agenda, i decided to attend the afternoon and evening sessions. the afternoon session was to start at 2.45, and i got there at 3 - only to realize that they had changed the agenda for the day, and decided to compress the two sessions into one. argh! some of the panelists were from the govt. and shed little light on anything at all. the others spoke from the corporate sector - scojo and msri. i am not one to condemn the govt. for anything and everything, but the presentations from the private sector were distinctly superior. while the govt. officials talked from a high-level (high enough that you and me could have constructed the essays that they read), the corporate sector presenters were to-the-point, spoke about real world examples, and presented videos on their projects.
the govt. must be doing something in the ict sector! even if it weren't of scale (which i decidedly doubt), there are certainly projects these speakers could have picked up and discussed. oh, the sheer apathy!
