priorities in life
i just took a "priorities in life" quiz on facebook that gives you 10 choices and asks you to rank them in order. i don't know what happens after you take the quiz, because it just gave me the following message -
i've decided i will be more cognizant of this in my 'money talk' from now on. and it will come 4th after love, family, and children. not 10th. definitely not 10th.

Thanks!i feel cheated. but never mind that. what i was intrigued by after i took the test was that i had put money last - right at the very end. convenient. i tend to freely mention that money matters little to me, that i'm not good with it, etc. suddenly, i feel ashamed to be that way. it's not that it doesn't matter. perhaps it's ok to not stress about it, because it's best to not stress about - or lose sleep over - anything, in general. but i do think it matters. for instance, it would matter very much if i weren't wealthy enough to fly to india to see my parents every year. it would matter very much if i couldn't get the best kind of health care for the people i love because i didn't have enough money. it would matter a significant amount if i didn't have enough to send my children (when i had some) to a good school.

Hey, I took this quiz too, but got confused, cuz a lot of the things implied the others, e.g., having family, children, marriage and friends as a priority implied having love as a priority. No?
B suggests that perhaps the ordering means you would leave one for the other. However, even then a lot of the orderings depend on the degree. E.g., if i were in an extremely low paying job that i loved, i might consider taking a higher paying job that i didn't like as much (unless i had other means of support), but i may not take up an extremely high paying job i hated.
You're right, on first count. And I agree, on second count. I think they should make these things clearer :). But I also think it implies that you need to -off the bat- say what matters to you in what order.
thinking of money...its makes its presence felt only when you do not have it in adequate amounts
which makes me think about it right now

you shouldn't remind me of your salary. i feel terrible about it :X.
i'm visiting my (3 yr-old) niece and (~6 yr-old) nephew in la this weekend, and enjoying every minute of it :D.
